Job summary

Archdiocese of Brisbane seeks a dedicated Project Officer to support youth and young adults initiatives across parishes, schools and communities. You will lead and assist faith formation activities, engage young people and leaders, and help deliver workshops, resources and events in alignment with the Catholic mission.

This full-time role requires occasional evenings and weekends, with potential for four-day part-time arrangements.

Qualifications

• Three years' experience in Catholic youth ministry (essential).
• Experience in a leadership role guiding others.
• Strong commitment to the mission and values of the Catholic Church.
• Excellent interpersonal and communication skills.
• Experience facilitating presentations, workshops or formation activities.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office and Canva.
• Willingness to work evenings and weekends as required.
• Ability to obtain and maintain Queensland Blue Card and National Criminal History Check.

Responsibilities

• Support the delivery of youth and young adult ministry initiatives across the Archdiocese.
• Prepare and facilitate presentations, workshops and faith formation activities.
• Build relationships with young people, parishes, schools and community groups.
• Provide practical ministry support to the Encounter Youth Project and its teams.
• Support and develop youth leaders through formation, coaching, mentoring and resources.
• Collaborate with parishes and schools to strengthen youth engagement and ministry opportunities.
• Develop and share resources and tools to support sustainable local youth ministry.
• Promote opportunities for young people to participate in Catholic faith and community initiatives.
