Job summary

Mackay Christian College seeks a Youth Worker to join our team on a full-time, term-time basis with immediate start possible. The role offers a structured schedule that excludes term breaks, and pay of $30.36 to $31.22 per hour plus superannuation.

You will work with students and families to enhance wellbeing and engagement within a Christian learning community. Mandatory qualifications include a Certificate IV in Youth Support Work and a current Working with Children Card.

Qualifications

• Minimum Certificate IV in Youth Support Work, or equivalent.
• A current Paid Working with Children Blue Card, or eligibility to acquire one prior to commencement.

Responsibilities

• Working with students and their families to implement tailored strategies that support students' wellbeing and assists them to have a more positive educational experience.
• Working with College teams to monitor students’ wellbeing and engagement, and intervene early by providing advice and guidance to address concerns.
• Using a strengths-based approach when working with students to develop social skills and self-esteem, and support connection with peers and social networks.
• Facilitating referrals to other professionals and services and assisting students and families to access this support.
