Job summary

Y Schools Queensland - Online Campus in Brisbane is seeking a Classroom Youth Worker for an On-Site, Permanent, Full-Time role. The position focuses on student wellbeing, pastoral care and community development within the Online Campus setting.

You will coordinate wellbeing initiatives, plan activities, support vocational training, and build supportive relationships with students and families, contributing to a positive school climate and safe learning environment.

Qualifications

• Certificate IV or above in Youth Work or related field
• Positive Notice Blue Card or willingness to obtain
• Ability to communicate with young people and families from diverse backgrounds
• Ability to plan and apply behaviour management strategies in supportive environments
• Strengths Approach and non-judgmental, empathic framework
• Excellent oral and written communication and interpersonal skills

Responsibilities

• Coordinate the delivery of the school’s pastoral care and community development program to meet student wellbeing and attendance targets
• Plan and lead wellbeing programs for students
• Support the delivery of vocational training programs offered to students
• Assist in delivering programs, services and events for young people through the campus
• Form intentional relationships with young people to support their strengths, interests and needs
• Support and case manage identified students in line with school policies

Education
