Y Schools Queensland—Online Campus in Brisbane is seeking a passionate Wellbeing Counsellor for a permanent, full-time on-site position. You will support young people’s mental, emotional, and social wellbeing, provide brief interventions, and design group programs within the Thrive framework.

The role requires tertiary qualifications in counselling/psychology and registration with ACA or PACFA. You will work with teachers, staff, and families to promote resilience and lifelong wellbeing, with

• Tertiary qualifications in counselling/psychology and ACA/PACFA registration.
• Experience working with young people to provide strategic social-emotional support.
• Evidence-based, trauma-informed practices for youth mental health.
• Excellent interpersonal skills with diverse stakeholders.
• Ability to maintain confidentiality.
• National Police Check within 6 months.
• Ability to work collaboratively across programs.
• Computer literacy with Word and Excel.
• Proficiency with Microsoft Office.
• Current driver’s licence and Blue Card; first aid or willingness to obtain.

Responsabilidades

• Conduct brief intervention counselling with individuals to reduce barriers to education.
• Design and deliver wellbeing group programs and preventative interventions.
• Deliver Thrive wellbeing framework training to staff and create resources.
• Coordinate assessments and formulate Personal Education Plans.
• Resource students with disabilities and liaise with teaching staff.
• Assess mental health and learning needs to inform intervention planning.
• Maintain knowledge of evidence-based counselling approaches and tools.
• Deliver psychoeducation sessions to parents on emotional regulation and family wellbeing.
