Job summary

Y Schools Queensland in Brisbane is seeking a Senior Youth Worker to join our team on a permanent full-time basis at the Parkinson campus. You will guide young people to realise their potential and foster holistic growth through wellbeing and community programs.

Key duties include coordinating pastoral care, delivering wellbeing and vocational programs, and building strong relationships with students and families from diverse backgrounds.

Qualifications

• Certificate IV or higher in Youth Work or related field.
• Positive Notice Blue Card, or willingness to obtain.
• National Police Check within the last 6 months, or willingness to obtain.
• Demonstrated ability to communicate with diverse young people and families.
• Ability to apply behaviour management strategies in a supportive environment.
• Commitment to Strengths Approach with non-judgmental, empathic framework.
• Excellent oral and written communication and interpersonal skills.

Responsibilities

• Coordinate pastoral care and community development programs to meet wellbeing needs.
• Plan and lead wellbeing programs for students.
• Support vocational training programs offered to students.
• Assist in delivering programs and events for young people on campus.
• Form intentional relationships to support student growth and needs.
