Job summary

Y Schools Queensland is seeking a Wellbeing Counsellor based in Brisbane for a permanent, full-time on-site role. You will support young people by promoting mental, emotional and social wellbeing, offering a safe space to talk, and applying evidence-based counselling approaches.

You will design group programs, deliver Thrive wellbeing training to staff, assess student needs, coordinate supports, and collaborate with teaching staff to create Personal Education Plans and inclusive learning

Qualifications

• Tertiary qualifications in counselling and/or psychology and full registration with ACA and/or PACFA.
• Experience working with young people to support social-emotional and educational outcomes.
• Demonstrated trauma-informed practice for youth facing mental health or developmental challenges.

Responsibilities

• Conduct brief intervention counselling with individuals to support education access.
• Design and deliver preventative and early intervention group programmes.
• Deliver Thrive wellbeing training to staff and create wellbeing resources.
