Job summary

Parkville College seeks a Transition Specialist to support Malmsbury Youth Justice students in education, training and employment pathways. You will develop holistic transition plans and coordinate with custodial and community partners to enable sustainable reintegration into the community.

The role is based at the Malmsbury campus and may require travel across campuses and occasional school holiday work. You will work under the Transitions Team with a focus on outcomes and compliance with child

Qualifications

• Demonstrated ability to work with marginalised young people and communities.
• Experience developing holistic outcome-focused case/care plans for youths.
• Ability to collaborate with DE, DJCS, DFFH and families/guardians.
• Knowledge of Victorian education and youth justice systems; relevant case management experience.
• Experience working in a high-pressure demand-driven environment.
• Provide an example of Culturally Responsive Practice in education.

Responsibilities

• Build trust with Parkville College students to discuss education, training and employment goals.
• Develop pathways for Youth Justice students aligned to needs and circumstances.
• Advocate for enrolment and access to supports and pathways.
• Engage in outreach with students, families and support networks.
• Provide a child-safe environment per standards and Parkville College philosophy.
• Design and deliver materials to build skills for chosen pathways.
• Provide reports on student achievements and needs to schools, providers and employers.
• Contact students post-release to monitor engagement and resolve barriers.
• Maintain up-to-date records reflecting student engagement and outcomes.
• Share information with internal and external stakeholders about options and supports.
• Collaborate with care teams to link students with external services as needed.
• Engage community stakeholders to broaden exposure to pathways and employment.
