Job summary

Parkville College delivers education to young people at Malmsbury Youth Justice Precinct and other campuses. The primary role engages and supports students to identify, prepare for, and access education, training and employment opportunities, building holistic transition plans for custody-to-community progression.

The role is based at Malmsbury, with potential cross-site work and occasional school holidays, and sits within Range 4 responsibilities including managing support functions and

Qualifications

• Current Working with Children Check required.
• Desirable: experience with youth in education and diversion settings.

Responsibilities

• Build trust with Parkville College students to discuss education, training and employment ambitions.
• Develop education, training and employment pathways for Youth Justice students.
• Advocate for enrolment and access to supports and opportunities.
• Engage families and support networks to improve engagement and outcomes.
• Provide a child safe environment in line with Parkville College standards.
• Design and deliver materials to develop skills for education, training and employment pathways.
• Provide reports and insights to schools, providers and employers on achievements and needs.
• Maintain contact with students post-release to monitor progress and barriers.
• Keep up-to-date records reflecting engagement and outcomes.
• Collaborate with PC teams and external services to link students with supports.

Education

Diploma level or higher in youth work or related discipline
