BaptistCare SA is seeking a Casual Residential Youth Support Worker to assist in the day-to-day operation of a residential facility for vulnerable young people. You will provide practical and personal support, promote independence and help develop essential living skills to help residents reach their care plan goals.

Working within a trauma-informed framework, you will build respectful relationships, maintain a safe environment and collaborate with the team to achieve program objectives,

Competenze

• Certificate 4 in Child, Youth and Family Interventions, Youth Work, Community Services, or related field.
• Experience working with vulnerable and at-risk young people.
• Experience working with Aboriginal communities in the provision of support services.
• Experience with culturally and linguistically diverse people, LGBTQIA+ and marginalised groups.

About the role - Casual

The Residential Youth Support Worker plays a key role in the day-to-day operation of a residential facility supporting vulnerable and at-risk young people. You will provide practical and personal support, promote independence, and assist with developing essential living skills. The role focuses on building positive, professional relationships, maintaining a safe and welcoming environment, and supporting young people to achieve the goals outlined in their Care Plans and Program objectives within a trauma-informed framework.

About you

You are compassionate, reliable and comfortable working with vulnerable young people. You build respectful relationships, communicate clearly and work well within a team. You are culturally aware, maintain professional boundaries, and are committed to supporting young people in a safe and inclusive environment.

You will also have the following skills and experience:

• Certificate 4 in Child, Youth and Family Interventions, Youth Work, Community Services, or related field.
• Previous experience in working with vulnerable and at-risk young people
• Experience working with Aboriginal people and communities in the provision of support services
• Experience working with culturally and linguistically diverse people, LGBTQIA+ and communities and other marginalised groups in the provision of support services
• Ability to practice appropriate level therapeutic interventions
