Job summary

Hireup in Albion Park, NSW is looking for a calm, reliable Youth Support Worker to assist a young client with complex mental health challenges and behaviours of concern. You will build rapport over time and work closely with the client’s support team to provide a safe, stabilising environment.

Ideal applicants have disability support experience, trauma-informed care, and experience implementing Behaviour Support Plans with professional boundaries.

What are we looking for?

We are seeking a calm, reliable and consistent Youth Support Worker, in Albion Park, NSW, who can build rapport over time and work collaboratively with the client's support team, is patient and highly resilient to assist a young client navigating complex mental health challenges and behaviours of concern.

The ideal candidate will have a proven ability to build authentic rapport, drawing on their extensive experience supporting children and young people with trauma backgrounds and emotional regulation difficulties. To succeed in this role, you must be confident in managing complex behavioural needs, actively implementing Behaviour Support Plans, and maintaining firm professional boundaries to provide a safe, stabilising environment for the client. Having an interest in soccer or animals is a plus!

Mandatory experience required:

• Demonstrated disability support work experience
• Experience supporting children or young people with complex behavioural and emotional support needs
• Experience implementing Behaviour Support Plans and maintaining professional boundaries

Desirable Experience/Qualifications:

• Experience supporting young people with trauma backgrounds and emotional regulation difficulties
• Experience supporting distance education or school refusal
• Experience working with people in corrections or justice settings
• Certificate III or higher in Disability, Community Services, Youth Work or a related field

Must have the following documents:

• NDIS Worker Screening Check
• NDIS Worker Orientation Module
• Full First Aid & CPR
• Working With Children Check
• Unrestricted Australian driver's licence & access to own vehicle
• Nationally Coordinated Criminal History Check

Shifts available & supports provided:

Wednesdays & Thursdays 3pm - 7pm or 8pm. Looking for someone who has flexible availability, as these shifts are subject to change, other weekday & weekend shifts may be required.
