Job summary

Family Centered Support Services in Queensland is seeking a Casual Team Member to support Children and Young People in Residential Out-of-Home Care at therapeutic properties. You will help them achieve social, educational, cultural and emotional goals, and oversee daily care.

The role requires a 24-hour shift pattern, a current Australian driver’s licence, and a Certificate IV or equivalent. Training, on-call support, and career development are provided.

Qualifications

• Current Australian Driver's Licence (Open or P2).
• Minimum Certificate IV in Child, Youth and Family Intervention or equivalent.
• Availability for shift work (24-hour model), including weekdays, weekends, and sleepovers as scheduled.
• Approved Licensed Care Service (LSC) check through the department, or ability to obtain one.
• Current Paid Blue Card or willingness to obtain one.
• Current First Aid and CPR certificates, or willingness to obtain them.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills, including documentation, organization, and reporting.
• Proficient computer skills, particularly in Microsoft Office Suite.
• Provide two recent professional references.

Responsibilities

• Providing hands-on support in teaching life skills to Young People (cooking, cleaning, budgeting, homework, personal care, appointments, sports, schooling).
• Developing Positive Behaviour Support Plans and progress reports.
• Assessing and supporting developmental progress of Young People.
• Liaising with stakeholders to share information, contribute to planning and ensure outcomes.
• Creating activity plans and facilitating community engagement for the Young Person.
• Safely supporting behaviours using Therapeutic Crisis Intervention (TCI) techniques.
