Job summary

yourtown in NSW is seeking a dynamic Youth Worker to join the Get Back in the Game program in St Mary’s. You will work with young people aged 15-21, using a client-centered, strength-based approach to help them overcome barriers and move toward sustainable employment or education.

The role involves assessments, planning with young people, group activities, collaboration with partners, and advocacy. A Certificate IV in Community Services and at least two years’ relevant experience are required; a

Qualifications

• Certificate IV qualification in Community Services (or equivalent).
• At least two years' experience supporting young people through case management, social work, or similar roles.
• Solid understanding of the local labour market and barriers faced by disadvantaged youth.
• Proven ability to deliver workshops and group facilitation.

Responsibilities

• Undertaking individual assessments and providing referrals to specialist services.
• Collaborating with the young person to set goals addressing non-vocational barriers.
• Case conferencing with the Senior Pathways Coach and Employment Mentor.
• Developing and delivering group activities to build skills and work readiness.
• Partnering with community organisations and local employers to create opportunities.
