Job summary

FireFit Youth & Community Hub in Liverpool is seeking an enthusiastic Youth Worker to engage 8–18 year olds through sport, fitness and recreational activities. You will plan and deliver engaging sessions, support young people to build confidence, teamwork and leadership, and create a safe, welcoming environment.

You'll work weekday evenings and Saturdays on a rotating pattern, with rest days following long shifts.

Qualifications

• Relevant experience working with children and young people aged 8 to 18.
• Experience delivering sports and physical activity programmes and engaging young people.
• Ability to plan and deliver a range of sports, fitness and recreational activities.
• Ability to build positive relationships, motivate and support young people.
• Experience managing groups and responding to challenging behaviour.

Responsibilities

• Plan and deliver a varied programme of sports, fitness and recreational activities for young people.
• Use sport and physical activity to help build confidence, resilience, teamwork and leadership.
• Build positive relationships with young people through group activities and one-to-one support.
• Create session plans, organise equipment and identify opportunities for new activities.
• Encourage involvement, try new experiences and help achieve personal goals.
• Involve young people in design, delivery and evaluation of activities and support youth voice.
• Manage groups, promote positive behaviour, and maintain a safe environment.
• Support young people to identify strengths and access wider opportunities.
• Monitor activities, maintain records and complete safeguarding reports as required.
