Rock Support Services is seeking a compassionate Youth Support Worker to join our team on a casual but permanent basis in Queensland. You will empower children and young people to build skills, navigate challenges, access education, employment and safe housing, and work toward their goals for a brighter future.

Qualifications

• Hold (or be studying towards) a Cert IV Child, Youth and Family, Community Services or similar.
• Current Working with Children’s and NDIS worker checks (or willingness to obtain).
• Current First aid and CPR (or willingness to obtain).
• Excellent communication and ability to build trust with children and families.
• Ability to maintain accurate records and follow policies.

Responsibilities

• Empower children and young people to build skills and confidence for independent living.
• Walk alongside participants as they navigate education, employment and housing goals.
• Maintain a clean, safe residence and support nutritious meal routines.
• Provide consistent boundaries and a supportive, low‑stress environment.
• Collaborate with the team to solve problems and plan activities.

We are seeking a compassionate and reliable Youth Support Worker to join our team, on a casual but permanent basis.

As part of our team, you will be empowering children and young people to build the skills and confidence they need to live independently. You will walk alongside them as they navigate challenges, access education, employment, and safe housing, and work toward their goals for a brighter future.

You will be a great fit if you have:

• Hold (or be studying towards) a certificate IV Child, Youth and Family, Community Services or similar
• Driver’s licence and access to a reliable vehicle with comprehensive insurance
• Current Working with Children’s and NDIS workers checks (or willingness to obtain)
• Current First aid and CPR (or willingness to obtain)
• Lead with positive role modelling and mentoring to enable children and young people to meet their goals and achieve their full potential
• Highly developed capacity for emotional self-regulation including the capacity to set and maintain consistent boundaries to provide safety, stability and consistency.
• Proactive in maintaining a high standard of cleanliness in the residence, while creating a dinner routine with nutritious meals
• Well-developed communication skills and ability to build trust, collaborate effectively to solve problems creatively
• The ability to maintain accurate records, follow policies, uphold boundaries and contribute to a safe, empowering environment
• Flexibility to work a mix of day, afternoon, weekend and sleepover shifts
• Confident using basic technology (Microsoft Teams, email, mobile apps)
