Job summary

Mimal is seeking an energetic and community-minded Youth Ranger Coordinator to establish and lead a new Youth Ranger Program in Arnhem Land. You will work closely with Traditional Owners, Elders, families and schools to create meaningful pathways into education, employment and community leadership.

This full-time, fixed-term role offers hands-on on-country program design, strong cross-cultural collaboration and opportunities for professional development while contributing to cultural continuity

Qualifications

• Experience designing, coordinating or delivering community-based programs.
• Strong relationship-building with Aboriginal communities, Elders, families, young people and partner organisations.
• Excellent facilitation, communication and stakeholder engagement skills.
• Ability to work collaboratively and support community-led and co-designed approaches.
• Experience creating pathways into education, training, employment or community development programs.
• Strong planning, organisation and project coordination skills.
• Confidence working independently to establish and grow a new initiative.
• An understanding of youth development, social and emotional wellbeing, or community engagement programs.
• The adaptability and resilience to work in remote and cross-cultural environments.
• A genuine passion for supporting young people to achieve their goals while strengthening connections to culture and Country.

Responsibilities

• Shape and lead a new Youth Ranger Program from the ground up.
• Work alongside young people, Elders and Traditional Owners to create opportunities that strengthen culture, wellbeing and future career pathways.
• Combine community engagement, program design and on-country delivery in a role that will leave a lasting impact.
• Coordinate on-Country activities, training, mentoring and work experience opportunities to build skills and confidence.
• Facilitate co-design processes, develop partnerships, support program delivery and track outcomes.
