Job summary

Veritas House Inc. is seeking a Youth Support Worker for the Permanency Support Program in Bathurst, NSW. You will mentor children and young people, support families and collaborate with caseworkers to promote stable, long-term outcomes.

Key duties include helping young people learn tenancy skills, budget management, and navigating services. A current driver's licence and child-related checks are prerequisites. This role offers probation-based opportunities within a trauma-informed team.

Qualifications

• Certificate IV or Diploma or higher in Youth Work, Community Services, Criminal Justice or similar.
• Demonstrated ability to engage with children, young people, families and carers.
• Knowledge of trauma-informed care and related challenges.

Responsibilities

• Mentor children and young people in the PSP.
• Assist living independently including tenancy skills and budgeting.
• Help navigate government services (e.g., Centrelink) and education/work opportunities.
• Facilitate supervised family time visits in a safe, supportive environment.
• Transport to appointments and school as needed.
