Job summary

AKG Australia is seeking a Youth Mentor/Employment Consultant to support a caseload of young people, helping them identify barriers and opportunities within Transition to Work. You will engage with local schools and youth hubs to connect participants with education and employment options.

The role focuses on building relationships with employers, training providers and community groups, creating tailored service plans, and maintaining accurate records in a supportive, performance-driven

Qualifications

• Passionate about working with clients and local communities.
• Experience in Employment Services or Transition to Work is desirable.
• Strong communication and relationship-building skills.

Responsibilities

• Support a caseload of youth and understand barriers to employment.
• Engage with local youth to attract eligible participants.
• Attend secondary schools to provide information about Transition to Work.
• Create and source education and employment opportunities for clients.
• Develop, tailor and implement individual service plans.
• Build relationships with employers, training providers, and community organisations.
• Maintain accurate records and ensure a welcoming youth hub environment.
• Participate in local events to promote the program.
