Job summary

Queensland Department of Youth Justice and Victim Support – Kirwan QLD is seeking a Team Leader to supervise staff applying evidence-based strategies to reduce re-offending among youth. You will allocate tasks, oversee risk assessment processes, and ensure high-quality casework and restorative justice practices.

The role requires a tertiary degree in relevant fields, an unrestricted driver’s license, and a Blue Card linked to the organisation.

Qualifications

• Tertiary degree as required or recognised equivalents.
• Blue Card linked to organisation prior to starting.
• Unrestricted C-class driver’s license required.
• Criminal History Check may be required as part of pre-employment screening.

Responsibilities

• Provide supervision to staff in evidence-based practices aimed at reducing re-offending.
• Allocate, prioritise and quality assure tasks in line with procedures and delegations.
• Maintain knowledge of contemporary youth justice practices and accreditation requirements.
• Oversee risk management processes for suicide risk within the youth justice service centre.
• Provide timely advice to ensure delivery of quality youth justice casework and restorative practices.
• Contribute to planning, reviews and decision-making within staff and management teams.
• Foster collaborative relationships with internal and external stakeholders for case-related matters.
