Job summary

Save The Children Australia invites applications for Family Support Specialist – Ohana Academy in Cairns. You will join a team delivering a holistic education and wellbeing program for youth in contact with the justice system, providing integrated case management and family support.

We seek compassionate professionals with youth work experience, trauma‑informed approaches and a collaborative mindset to strengthen families and communities.

Qualifications

• Experience delivering integrated case management to at‑risk youth and families.
• Ability to apply trauma‑informed practices in daily interactions.
• Strong skills in engaging with Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander communities (if applicable).
• Proven ability to work collaboratively with multidisciplinary teams.
• Experience supporting young people involved with the justice system.

Responsibilities

• Provide holistic case management to young people within the Ohana Academy program.
• Deliver family support and parent coaching to strengthen caregiving relationships.
• Conduct flexible engagement and holistic assessments with clients.
• Develop and review client goals, monitoring progress and outcomes.
• Offer evidence‑based information, guidance, and referrals to additional services.
