Job summary

Save the Children Australia is launching Ohana Academy in Logan, seeking two Family Support Specialists to provide integrated case management and wraparound family support. You will work with Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander youth, applying trauma-informed and strengths-based practices to improve outcomes for young people in the justice system.

You’ll operate within a 12-month maximum term (potential extension to Dec 2028), part-time or full-time, and contribute to a holistic, collaborative

Qualifications

• Proven skills and experience supporting young people involved with the justice system.
• Experience working with Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander youth and families.
• Background in youth work and/or case management.
• Experience applying trauma-informed practice in day-to-day work.
• Demonstrated strengths-based approach when engaging with families.
• Strong interpersonal abilities and ability to set goals with families.
• Solid understanding of intergenerational trauma.

Responsibilities

• Provide holistic case management for vulnerable clients in Logan.
• Deliver partnership-based, outcomes-focused family support services.
• Collaborate with colleagues to deliver Ohana Academy programs.
• Identify client strengths, set program goals, and review progress.
• Deliver evidence-based information, guidance, and educational resources.
• Refer clients to additional services when needed.
