Zusammenfassung

Save the Children Australia in Cairns is launching Ohana Academy and seeks three Youth Specialists to join the team to help create lasting change for young people in contact with the youth justice system. These are full or part-time, 12-month maximum-term roles with potential extension to December 2028.

You will facilitate activities to boost social and emotional wellbeing, life skills and education attainment, while developing strong relationships with clients and their families and advocating

Qualifikationen

• Demonstrated skills and experience working with young people in contact with the justice system.
• Demonstrated experience in youth work / case management roles.
• An understanding of complex intergenerational trauma.

Aufgaben

• Facilitating activities designed to increase social and emotional wellbeing, life skills and education attainment.
• Developing and maintaining trusting relationships with clients and their families.
• Providing practical support, mentoring and advocacy for young people with complex needs.
• Identifying where additional assistance and external services are required, providing information and referrals.
