Job summary

Save the Children Australia in Logan invites applications for three Youth Specialist positions to join the Ohana Academy team. These full or part-time, 12‑month maximum term roles offer a chance to support young people in the youth justice system with integrated case management, mentoring and advocacy.

You will facilitate activities to boost social and emotional wellbeing, develop trusting relationships with families, and link clients with the right services, with potential extension beyond

Qualifications

Expertise in working with Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander youth and families.
Passion for supporting young people to achieve their goals.
Innovative, compassionate and flexible approach to youth work.

Responsibilities

Facilitating activities designed to increase young people's social and emotional wellbeing, life skills and education attainment
Developing and maintaining trusting relationships with clients and their families
Providing practical support, mentoring and advocacy for young people with complex needs
Identifying where additional assistance and external services are required, providing appropriate information, support and referrals
