Job summary

Melbourne CityMission Inc. seeks an Youth Access and Inclusion Service (YAIS) Worker to support young people involved with the Children's Court who may have unmet disability support needs.

The role focuses on identifying barriers, informing on disability supports, and delivering short-term outreach to facilitate NDIS access and community services. Working within a trauma-informed, culturally safe framework, you will collaborate with families, legal representatives, court personnel, and

Qualifications

• Tertiary qualification in a relevant discipline or demonstrated equivalent experience.
• Experience working with vulnerable children and young people in youth justice, child protection, disability, or related services.
• Strong knowledge of disability, neurodiversity, and NDIA/NDIS pathways.

Responsibilities

• Deliver services in line with healing-oriented, trauma-informed, and culturally safe practices.
• Engage with 10–18 year olds involved with the Children’s Court and assess disability support needs.
• Provide information, advice, and guidance on disability supports, assessments, and NDIS pathways.
• Deliver short-term outreach to assist access to disability assessments and supports.
• Collaborate with families, legal representatives, court staff, and Aboriginal organisations to address needs.
