Job summary

Upper Hunter Shire Council is seeking a Youth Worker – Youth Assistant in Murrurundi for a permanent part-time role (10 hours per week). You’ll help create meaningful experiences for local young people, delivering activities and supporting the Youth Centre with a friendly team.

The position offers a salary of $1,140.70 to $1,277.60 per 35-hour week plus 12% superannuation, annual leave, long service leave, training opportunities and salary sacrifice options.

Qualifications

• Passion for working with young people and contributing as part of a supportive team.
• Ability to build positive relationships with young people and families.
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
• Respect for culture and diversity; works well in a team.
• Proficient in Microsoft Office and related software; WWC Check, valid licence.
• Current Working with Children Check and a current unrestricted driver’s licence.
• Availability to work evenings and during school holiday periods.

Responsibilities

• Engage directly with young people and support programs and events.
• Assist in delivering engaging activities, programs and events for local youth.
• Provide administration and day-to-day Youth Centre support.
• Help maintain a welcoming, inclusive Youth Centre environment.
