Job summary

St Francis Xavier College in Canberra is seeking a Year Coordinator to provide expert leadership of a year group, applying research-based pastoral care to support student wellbeing and learning outcomes. You will join the College Leadership team, reporting to the Assistant Principal and Principal, and contribute to the mission of Catholic Education.

This 12-month, full-time appointment starts 25 January 2027 with a salary of $154,326 plus superannuation.

Qualifications

• Bachelor of Teaching or Master of Teaching.
• WWVP clearance.
• TQI registration.
• Accreditation under CACGEL policy.

Responsibilities

• Lead a year group with pastoral care and student wellbeing.
• Work as part of the College Leadership team and report to the Assistant Principal and Principal.
• Support curriculum and welfare programs for Year 7–12.
• This is a temporary role replacing a staff member on leave.

About the Role

The Year Coordinator plays a vital role in the College and will be committed to the vision of the College ‘Living the truth, leading with courage, learning for life’ and is invested in and will promote the mission of Catholic Education. Year Coordinators provide expert leadership of a year group and utilise current research, evidence and innovative practice in pastoral care and student wellbeing to meet the needs of our learners 7 -12. As a member of the Leadership team, the Coordinator reports to the Assistant Principal and to the Principal in realising the vision and mission of the College.

This appointment is temporary to replace an employee on leave.
