Job summary

South Coast Baptist College in Perth's southern metropolitan region is seeking a passionate Primary Classroom Teacher for Year 6 to join our Primary School and contribute to the Future Ready program for Years 5 and 6 in 2027.

You will plan, deliver and assess literacy and numeracy programs aligned with the Western Australian Curriculum, support student wellbeing and collaborate with the Year 6 team in a hybrid learning model, including AUSLAN delivery where needed.

Qualifications

• Demonstrated ability to plan, teach and assess high-quality Primary literacy and numeracy programs.
• Understanding of effective pedagogy, including explicit teaching and purposeful inquiry.
• Commitment to child safety, student wellbeing and inclusive practice.

Responsibilities

• Plan, deliver and assess engaging learning programs aligned with the Western Australian Curriculum, focusing on literacy and numeracy.
• Provide high-quality teaching, pastoral care and learning support within a safe, inclusive classroom.
• Contribute to the launch and development of the Years 5–6 Future Ready program.
• Learn and teach AUSLAN across the Year 6 cohort with training provided by the College.
• Use explicit instruction, inquiry-based learning and differentiated strategies to support progress.
• Collaborate with Year 6 colleagues and specialist teachers for shared planning and wellbeing.
• Support students in developing independence and organisational skills and adapt to a hybrid learning model.
• Use technology safely to enhance learning while balancing reading, handwriting and practical activities.
• Support school events and wider Primary School activities.
