Coolabah Turf is seeking a hands-on Yard Person / Delivery Driver to join the Echuca team. The role focuses on safely loading turf pallets with a forklift and preparing refrigerated trucks for dispatch, with occasional local and regional deliveries.

You’ll be part of a growing Victorian turf producer, working in a fast-paced farm environment. The role offers permanent full-time hours, with overtime and weekend requirements as needed.

Qualifications

• Experience in transport, logistics or delivery.
• Forklift licence is required.
• Victorian driver’s licence is required.
• HC licence is required.
• Familiarity with farm equipment and safe loading practices.

Responsibilities

• Safely load turf pallets onto refrigerated trucks using a forklift.
• Organise loads to minimise double handling and ensure safe transport.
• Complete local/regional turf deliveries when required.
• Provide friendly customer service at delivery points.
• Carry out pre-start checks and routine vehicle/diesel records.
• Maintain yard and equipment in clean, safe condition.
• Assist with farm operations during peak periods.

Coolabah Turf is a Victorian grower and supplier of premium instant turf, supplying lawns across Victoria and Southern NSW.

We’re looking for a Yard Person / Delivery Driver to join our Echuca team. This is a hands‑on role that sits right in the middle of our operation, making sure fresh turf is safely loaded, dispatched and delivered to customers on time.

Your main focus will be loading turf pallets using a forklift and preparing our refrigerated trucks for dispatch. From time to time, you’ll also jump behind the wheel to make local and regional deliveries, as well as lend a hand across the farm during busy seasonal periods.

What you’ll be doing

• Safely and efficiently load turf pallets onto refrigerated semi and B‑double trucks and trailers using a forklift
• Organise loads and pallets to ensure safe, efficient transport and minimise double handling
• Complete local and regional turf deliveries throughout Victoria and Southern NSW when required
• Provide friendly, professional service to customers at delivery
• Complete vehicle, load and driver records accurately and on time
• Carry out pre‑start checks and report any vehicle, machinery or safety issues
• Keep trucks, equipment and the yard clean, tidy and well maintained
• Assist with farm operations during seasonal periods, including turf growing, mowing and harvesting
• Operate tractors, vehicles and specialised farm machinery as required
• Work closely with the Transport & Logistics Manager, Farm Manager and Harvest Coordinator to keep turf moving from paddock to customer
• Follow all company safety procedures and transport requirements, including Chain of Responsibility obligations

About you

You’ll be practical, reliable and happy working in a fast‑paced environment where no two days are necessarily the same.

We’re looking for someone who:

• Has previous experience in transport, logistics or delivery
• Holds a current Forklift Licence
• Holds a current Victorian driver’s licence
• Holds a current HC licence
• Has strong forklift operating skills and takes pride in safe loading practices
• Has sound mechanical knowledge
• Can work independently while also being a team player
• Has good communication and customer service skills
• Has strong attention to detail and takes pride in getting things right
• Is physically fit and comfortable working in a farm and yard environment
• Is safety‑focused and understands the importance of following procedures
• Is willing to learn and take direction
• Has a positive, can‑do attitude and isn’t afraid to get stuck in

What would be great to have

• Experience in turf, horticulture or agriculture would be an advantage, as would:
• A current MC licence
• Experience operating farm equipment or machinery
• Knowledge of turf production or horticulture

This role is covered by the Road Transport and Distribution Award 2020 – Grade 3.
