Job summary

Dahlsens Family Group of Companies is seeking a reliable Yard Person for our Innisfail Hardware team. You will help keep the yard running smoothly, prep stock for customers, and support deliveries and pickups with a practical, friendly service approach.

If you enjoy outdoor work, being part of a supportive team, and learning about hardware products, this role offers training, variety across the store, and potential leadership over time.

Qualifications

• Previous hardware or building industry experience.
• Strong safety focus and teamwork.
• Physical fitness and ability to handle manual tasks.
• Good attention to detail and accuracy.

Responsibilities

• Receive, move, store and load stock safely.
• Prepare customer orders accurately and on time.
• Load orders for delivery or pick-up.
• Keep yard and work areas clean, organised and safe.
• Ensure loads are secured and goods handled with care.
• Provide great service to customers and team members.
• Monitor stock levels and assist with demand planning.
• Participate in product training with leading brands.

ABOUT THE ROLE

We're looking for a reliable and motivated Yard Person to join our Innisfail Hardware team. This is a hands-on role where you'll help keep our yard running smoothly, make sure stock is ready to go, and support our customers with friendly, practical service.

If you enjoy working outdoors, being part of a supportive team and learning more about hardware and building products, this could be a great fit. You'll get ongoing training, variety across the store, and for the right person, opportunities to step into leadership over time.

ROLE RESPONSBILITIES

You’ll be working with heavy building materials, helping customers, preparing orders and keeping the yard safe, tidy and organised.

• Receiving, moving, storing and loading stock safely
• Preparing customer orders accurately and on time
• Loading orders for delivery or customer pick-up
• Keeping the yard and work areas clean, organised and safe
• Making sure loads are secured and goods are handled with care
• Providing great service to customers and team members
• Keeping an eye on stock levels and helping the team stay on top of demand
• Taking part in product training with leading brands

QUALIFCATIONS & SKILLS

• Previous hardware or building industry experience
• A strong focus on safety and looking out for your team
• Physical fitness and confidence with manual handling
• Good attention to detail and accuracy
