Job summary

Dahlsens Family Group of Companies is seeking an energetic, hands-on Yard Person for Nortruss Hardware in Darwin. You will help customers obtain building materials, ensuring orders are prepared safely, accurately and on time, while working within a supportive team.

The role requires experience in hardware or building, a safety-first mindset, and the ability to work with customers and teammates in a busy yard environment. This is a full-time on-site position in Darwin.

Qualifications

• Ability to operate vehicles safely within licence conditions.
• Must hold a current LF forklift licence.

Responsibilities

• Receive, move, store and load stock safely.
• Prepare and package orders accurately and on time.
• Pick and load customer orders for delivery or collection.
• Provide friendly, helpful service to customers and teammates.
• Monitor stock levels and alert the team when supplies run low.
• Keep the yard clean, organised and safe.

ABOUT THE ROLE

We're looking for an energetic, hands-on Yard Person to join the team at Nortruss Hardware in Darwin. You'll help our customers get the building materials they need, making sure orders are prepared safely, accurately and on time. If you enjoy practical work, helping people and being part of a supportive team, this could be a great fit for you.

RESPONSIBILITIES WILL INCLUDE

Experience in hardware or the building industry is essential. We're looking for someone who is confident, reliable and comfortable working with customers and teammates. In this role, you'll:

• Receive, move, store and load stock safely
• Prepare and package orders accurately and on time
• Pick and load customer orders for delivery or collection
• Provide friendly, helpful service to customers and teammates
• Keep an eye on stock levels and let the team know when supplies are running low
• Help keep the yard clean, organised and safe

QUALIFICATIONS AND SKILLS

• A strong focus on safety and looking out for your teammates, customers and visitors
• The fitness to safely lift and move building materials
• Good attention to detail and pride in getting orders right
• The ability to operate vehicles safely and within your licence conditions
• A current LF forklift licence — essential
