Job summary

Nortruss Hardware in Darwin is seeking an energetic Yard Person to assist customers and prepare orders. You’ll help ensure stock is picked, packed and loaded safely, with a focus on accuracy and timely delivery or pickup.

The role suits practical, people-oriented individuals who enjoy a busy hardware yard. Experience in hardware or construction helps, and a current manual licence plus LF forklift are essential.

ABOUT THE ROLE

We’re looking for an energetic, hands-on Yard Person to join the team at Nortruss Hardware in Darwin. You’ll help our customers get the building materials they need, making sure orders are prepared safely, accurately and on time. If you enjoy practical work, helping people and being part of a supportive team, this could be a great fit for you.

RESPONSIBILITIES WILL INCLUDE

Experience in hardware or the building industry is essential. We’re looking for someone who is confident, reliable and comfortable working with customers and teammates. In this role, you’ll:

• Receive, move, store and load stock safely
• Prepare and package orders accurately and on time
• Pick and load customer orders for delivery or collection
• Provide friendly, helpful service to customers and teammates
• Keep an eye on stock levels and let the team know when supplies are running low
• Help keep the yard clean, organised and safe

QUALIFICATIONS AND SKILLS

• A strong focus on safety and looking out for your teammates, customers and visitors
• The fitness to safely lift and move building materials
• Good attention to detail and pride in getting orders right
• The ability to operate vehicles safely and within your licence conditions
• A current manual driver licence — essential
• A current LF forklift licence — essential
