Job summary

Dahlsens Building Centres Pty is seeking a reliable Yard Person for our Smithfield team to move and stock building materials and assist customers with product knowledge. The role requires safe handling of heavy goods, stock control, and adherence to WHS guidelines.

A Forklift Licence is essential, HR Licence is advantageous, and physical fitness is important for lifting and loading. This is a hands-on position in a busy hardware environment with opportunities to contribute to customer service

ABOUT THE ROLE

We’re looking for an organised and physically fit individual to join our Smithfield team as a Yard Person. This role brings together heavy building materials to service our local customers with the right product, knowledge and advice.

RESPONSIBILITIES WILL INCLUDE

• Handling of all stock is done in a manner to minimise damage and wastage
• Maintaining the store in a clean and safe manner adhering to WHS guidelines
• Ensuring orders are prepared on time and in full to meet customer requirements
• Providing assistance across the diverse store

QUALIFICATIONS & SKILLS

• Demonstrated experience in safe movement and stock care in all loading and unloading processes
• Physically fit with the ability to safely lift loads and manually handle goods
• Exceptional attention to detail coupled with high level of accuracy
• High awareness of site safety and duty of care for your team, customers and site visitors
• Forklift Licence (LF) Essential
• HR Licence advantageous
