Job summary

Lyndons is seeking a Yard Operative for our Townsville branch to support daily yard operations, loading/unloading deliveries, and preparing orders for dispatch. You will help keep the yard organised and safe while collaborating with operations and customer service teams.

This role emphasizes our Safety First, Always! culture. A current forklift license (QLD) is required, and a reliable, punctual team player who wants long-term growth will fit well in our family-owned business.

Responsibilities

• Load and unload deliveries and assist with loading/offloading.
• Keep the yard clean, safe and organized.
• Organise and store materials in the yard safely and neatly.
• Pick and prepare orders for dispatch to customers.
• Collaborate with operations and customer service teams to ensure smooth workflow.
• Adhere to WHS policies and demonstrate safe work behaviours.

The Role: Yard Operative

We see your role as one of the most critical roles for our business. You will be responsible for the productivity of the yard on a day-to-day basis and ensuring the operational and hands-on tasks are performed in a successful manner.

Responsibilities

Operation

• Helping with deliveries - loading and unloading trucks
• Keeping the yard clean, safe, and organised
• Organise and store materials in the yard safely and neatly
• Pick and prepare orders for dispatch to customers
• Work closely with the operations and customer service teams to ensure smooth workflow

Workplace Health and Safety

• Take responsibilities on behalf of the organisation, but must also comply with requirements as workers, including:
• Ensure adherence to WHS policies and procedures
• Maintain relevant knowledge of WHS issues
• Act as a role model by demonstrating safe work behaviours
