Job summary

K&S Corporation NTFS division is seeking a hands-on yard operator in Darwin. The role combines container yard tasks with local road deliveries, providing variety in a busy transport environment.

Approximately 80% of your time will be spent unloading containers, moving freight with forklifts and Combi Lifts, and ensuring safety and load restraint. The rest involves local HR deliveries and driving duties under the supervision of the Operations Manager.

Qualifications

• Valid HR licence and forklift experience required.
• Experience unloading containers and moving freight.
• Combi Lift experience is highly regarded.
• Strong commitment to safety, load restraint and fatigue management.
• Clean driving history with no major infringements.

Responsibilities

• Unload containers in the yard using forklifts and Combi Lifts.
• Move freight within the yard and onto/off HR vehicles.
• Conduct local HR deliveries and driving duties as required.
• Follow safety procedures and load restraint protocols.
• Communicate effectively with team and supervisors.

About NTFS

Northern Territory Freight Services, as a division of K&S Corporation, are a general freight carrier between Adelaide and NT destinations with both ambient and temperature-controlled capabilities and have a heritage of servicing the Territory spanning decades. About the role:

Approximately 80% of your time will be spent in yard operations, unloading containers and safely moving containers and freight using forklifts and Combi Lifts.

You’ll also have the opportunity to get out on the road, completing local HR deliveries of general freight.

Reporting to the Operations Manager, no two days are the same. Enjoy a great mix of yard operations and local driving, with the autonomy and satisfaction of getting the job done safely and efficiently.

You will bring:

• A valid HR licence
• Forklift licence and previous forklift operating experience
• Experience unloading containers and moving freight
• Combi Lift experience will be highly regarded
• Previous experience operating HR vehicles
• A strong commitment to safety, load restraint and fatigue management
• A clean driving history with no major infringements
• Punctuality, reliability and a responsible approach to your working day
• The ability to follow instructions and communicate effectively
• Rail and port inductions will be highly regarded
