Job summary

Busways is seeking a Relief Yard Assistant (Refueller) to support Ryde and Willoughby depots. You will help keep buses ready for service by performing cleaning, fueling and pre-departure checks, ensuring vehicles are available for workshop when required.

This casual role requires reliability, attention to safety, and the ability to work in a fast-paced environment. You will report to the Depot Manager and be part of a team committed to safe, efficient operations.

Qualifications

• Demonstrated problem-solving skills and ability to deliver high-quality outcomes.
• Excellent communication and relationship-building abilities.
• Strong attention to detail, organisational and time-management skills.
• Leadership capability and experience coaching others.
• Must hold a valid Australian driver's license and have working rights in Australia.
• Current Driver Authority/Accreditation by the relevant State.

Responsibilities

• Ensuring that all buses are externally cleaned, washed and fuelled as per depot KPI requirements.
• Ensure that pre-departure checks are completed before buses depart the depot, and conduct oil and water checks weekly.
• Coordinating with Workshops for additional requirements when necessary.
• Ensure that requested buses are available for the workshop when services are required.
• Perform ad-hoc tasks and other duties as directed.
