Hastings Deering (Australia) Ltd is seeking an experienced Trades Assistant to join our Brisbane team on a permanent, Monday to Friday basis. You will assist with maintenance, repairs, yard duties and operate cranes and forklifts while upholding safety and quality standards.

You will work with skilled technicians on new machinery and participate in customer updates on job progress, contributing to efficient workshop operations and excellent service delivery.

Qualifications

• Excellent communication skills and a genuine customer focus.
• Strong time-management skills to keep jobs on track.
• Ability to work well with others as well as independently.
• Commitment to maintaining high workplace health and safety standards.
• Desirable: Overhead crane and forklift tickets (training may be available).

Responsibilities

• Deliver quality service – carry out maintenance and repairs to the highest standard, ensuring our customers’ equipment performs at its best.
• Follow procedures – research and consult the correct service information for procedures and specifications.
• Day to day duties – general yard cleaning and wash bay tasks.
• Machine operation – use of Overhead Gantry Crane and forklift.
• Keep customers informed – involve customers in major repair decisions and provide clear updates on job progress.
• Work with new state‑of‑the‑art machinery and learn from skilled technicians in the workshop.
