Job summary

AWX in Toowoomba is seeking a Workshop Technician on a casual full-time basis through to September, with potential extension. The role involves hands-on workshop work, installation of equipment for mobile response trailers, painting, and general maintenance.

Your duties include assembly and fit-out of trailers, basic fabrication, low-voltage wiring, and operating common workshop machinery, while maintaining a safe and organized workshop.

Qualifications

• Experience in a workshop, maintenance, assembly, or trade assistant environment.
• Exposure to basic fabrication, mechanical assembly, or maintenance tasks.
• Experience using hand tools and workshop machinery.
• Basic low-voltage wiring or electrical installation experience is desirable.
• Strong commitment to workplace safety and attention to detail.

Responsibilities

• Assist with the assembly, modification, and fit-out of mobile response trailers.
• Perform basic fabrication tasks such as measuring, cutting, drilling, and assembling components.
• Carry out painting and finishing work on trailers and related equipment.
• Complete low-voltage wiring, basic electronic tasks, and equipment installations.
• Operate workshop equipment and hand tools, including grinders, saws, drill presses, and other general workshop machinery.
• Conduct general workshop maintenance and housekeeping duties.
• Maintain a safe, clean, and organised work environment in accordance with workplace health and safety requirements.
• Support other workshop activities as required.
