Job summary

Toddy's Machinery Maintenance – Cairns QLD is seeking an enthusiastic team member to join our Cairns workshop and support our growing operations.

You will help with general workshop duties, assist tradespeople with mechanical tasks, and contribute to safety and organisation as part of a family-owned Cairns business specialising in heavy machinery repairs, service, and on/off-site field support.

Qualifications

• Current manual driver's licence and own transport.
• Minimum LR licence, ideally HC.
• Available for full-time hours, between 7.00am and 5.00pm.

Responsibilities

• Cleaning machines and components
• Carry out machinery on and off hire cleans
• Assisting tradesmen with simple mechanical or labour support
• Paint and panel touch-ups
• Cleaning and tidying the workshop spaces
• Ordering, collecting and organising workshop consumables
• Assisting with general WHS upkeep
• Picking, packing and dispatching GET orders
• Collecting and organising parts
• Moving vehicles and machinery to and from sites, COI inspections and external service providers
• Providing ad-hoc assistance to our Workshop Co-ordinator and office staff
• Loading and unloading freight
• Truck/heavy vehicle driving
• Paint and panel repairs

About Us

We are a local Cairns family-owned business, specialising in mining and civil mobile machinery repairs and maintenance on and off site since 2008.

Within our Cairns Worksop, our team of fitters and boilermakers complete heavy machinery service and repairs, component and machine overhauls, electrical and air conditioning service and repairs, welding and fabrication support, and install and service fire suppression systems.

Our workshop also supports our local and remote field service work, a growing retail trade in GET, the dry hire of our 40+ fleet of heavy machinery, and machinery transport with our Kenworth trucks.

About the Role

The successful applicant can expect general duties include:

We expect the duties of this role to adjust in accordance with the skills and experience of the successful applicant and as such, duties might also include:

Requirements for position
