Job summary

HumanKapital is assisting a Cardiff-based ramp manufacturer in recruiting an experienced Workshop Team Leader to oversee daily production and ensure safety, efficiency and reliability. This full-time role combines hands-on leadership with team management, quoting, freight, stock orders and QA, and requires strong communication with suppliers and customers to sustain outstanding service levels.

Our client, located in Cardiff, is a successful ramp manufacturer, assisting clients in multiple states with these home modifications. Due to continued growth, they are looking for an experienced and trustworthy Workshop Team Leader to join their team.
About the Role
This full-time permanent position is responsible for overseeing and coordinating daily production that ensures safe, efficient and reliable manufacturing.
This is a highly visible, hands on leadership role for someone who enjoys still getting on the tools while supporting and managing their team to success.
Reporting directly to the managing directors, you will not only manage your team, quotes, freight, stock orders, and quality assurance, you will also liaise directly with suppliers to understand their needs to ensure an outstanding level of customer service.
About You
You are a reliable and trustworthy leader that the managing directors will be able to depend on to help manage your team, clients, operations, and financial aspects such as invoicing.
You will also have:

• Proven experience in leading a team, preferably in the manufacturing industry
• Formal qualification in trades, operations, or engineering, or equivalent experience
• A current C Class License
• A current Forklift License
• General knowledge and understanding of production and installation processes
• Excellent attention to detail and the ability to spot defects and deviations from quality standards
• Outstanding communication skills, both verbal and written, with the ability to provide clear and constructive feedback
• Flexibility to adapt to changing scheduling and priorities
• Ability to develop and maintain positive working relationships with management, team members and key stakeholders
