Job summary

Autonomy & Asset Management Group (AAMG) is seeking a hands‑on Workshop Technician to join our Technology team in Brisbane. You will take projects from parts through assembly, testing and final dispatch, ensuring solutions are deployment‑ready for client sites.

You’ll work across workshop and warehouse, owning parts, inventory, project builds, testing, packing and logistics, while leveraging electrical, instrumentation and technology components.

Qualifications

• Trade, technical, parts, warehousing or inventory experience.
• Strong mechanical and electrical aptitude.
• Confidence using hand and power tools.
• Ability to read technical drawings and instructions.
• Strong attention to detail and pride in your work.
• Good organisation and problem‑solving skills.
• Basic computer skills for inventory and project records.
• Current Australian driver’s licence.
• A genuine interest in technology and learning new skills.

The Opportunity

We are looking for a hands‑on Workshop Technician to join our growing Technology team.

This is a varied role where you will help take projects from parts and components through assembly, testing and final dispatch, ensuring our technology solutions are ready for deployment to client sites.

You’ll work across both our workshop and warehouse, taking ownership of parts, inventory, project builds, testing, packing and logistics.

This role would suit someone with a trade, technical, parts or warehousing background who enjoys building things, solving problems and working with technology.

What You’ll Be Doing

• Workshop assembly, fit‑out and preparation of technology projects.

• 12V/24V DC electrical systems.
• Control cabinets, switchboards or electrical assembly.
• Trailer, vehicle or mobile equipment fit‑outs.
• Solar, battery and remote power systems.
• Sensors, PLCs, RTUs, IoT or telemetry.
• Mining, industrial or heavy equipment environments.
• Parts, stores, inventory or warehouse coordination.

Where This Role Can Take You

This is more than a workshop or warehouse position. We want someone who can grow with the role.

Initially, you’ll focus on parts and inventory, project assembly, testing and preparation. As your capability develops, you’ll have the opportunity to become involved in:

• Client‑site installation and commissioning.
• Electrical and instrumentation systems.
• IoT, telemetry and remote monitoring.
• Solar and remote power systems.
• Fault finding and technical support.
• Product development and prototyping.
• Project delivery and coordination.

The longer‑term opportunity is to develop into a well‑rounded Technology / Electrical & Instrumentation Technician, capable of taking projects from workshop build right through to client‑site commissioning and support.
