Job summary

SMW Group in Yeppoon, QLD, is seeking an experienced Workshop Mechanic for an immediate start. You will inspect, service, maintain, fault-find and repair heavy mobile equipment and diesel-powered plant on site.

Qualifications

• Demonstrated experience as a Diesel Fitter or Workshop Mechanic (LV/MV).
• Strong mechanical aptitude with diagnostic and fault-finding capability.
• Current Australian Driver’s Licence.
• High Risk Work Licences (highly desirable).

SMW Group is currently seeking experienced Workshop Mechanic to join our team in Yeppoon for an immediate start.

With more than a decade of proven delivery, SMW Group is a trusted Central Queensland contractor specialising in field servicing, maintenance, emergency repair and rebuild services to the mining, civil and construction sectors. We are known for running well-managed sites, maintaining long term client relationships and retaining skilled tradespeople through consistent work and practical leadership.

This is a permanent, full-time opportunity suited to Mechanic who are experienced in Coal Mining Heavy Mobile Equipment or Highway Trucks and looking for stable, long term employment with a company that values reliability and workmanship.

As a Mechanic with SMW Group, you will be responsible for the inspection, servicing, maintenance, fault finding, repair and rebuild of heavy mobile equipment and diesel powered plant. Working as part of an experienced field service team, you will support site operations by ensuring equipment reliability, optimal performance and strict compliance with site safety standards.

The role requires a strong hands on background, the ability to work autonomously on site and a practical approach to maintenance and repairs in demanding environments.
