Job summary

KAEFER Integrated Services Pty Ltd is seeking an experienced Workshop Manager to lead the Gladstone workshop operations. Based in Gladstone, you will oversee day-to-day activities, ensure projects are delivered safely, on time and within budget, and drive continuous improvement.

The role requires at least 5 years in supervisory fabrication or workshop settings and strong estimating, planning, and people management skills.

  • Minimum 5 years' experience in a supervisory role within a fabrication workshop environment.
  • 10+ years' technical industry experience.

  • Review job estimates, monitor costs, verify time records, and ensure correct job allocation and reporting.
  • Monitor project progress, provide weekly and monthly reports, and communicate delays or risks.

KAEFER Integrated Services is seeking an experienced and hands-on Workshop Manager to lead our Gladstone workshop operations. This is an excellent opportunity for a motivated leader with a strong fabrication, maintenance, or industrial services background who is passionate about safety, quality, and operational excellence.

Based in Gladstone QLD, you will be responsible for the day-to-day management of workshop activities, ensuring projects are delivered safely, on time, within budget, and to the highest standards.

About The Role:

Carry out all aspects of the day to day running of the Gladstone Workshop for the Operations Department and KAEFER Integrated Services Pty Ltd within the guidelines set out below, to successfully achieve the company’s objectives.

Key Responsibilities
  • Oversee daily workshop operations, including job scheduling, labour allocation, workflow management, and resource coordination.
  • Coordinate personnel, equipment, materials, and supplies to ensure jobs are completed safely, efficiently, and on schedule.
  • Assist with project management, estimating, purchasing, quality assurance, and approval processes.
  • Review job estimates, monitor costs, verify time records, and ensure correct job allocation and reporting.
  • Manage incoming and outgoing goods, including quantity verification and dispatch activities.
  • Monitor project progress, provide weekly and monthly reports, and promptly communicate delays, risks, manpower variances, or operational concerns.
  • Act as a technical advisor to support key projects and broader business requirements.
  • Maintain effective communication with clients and stakeholders, providing accurate updates on job status.
  • Drive a strong safety culture, ensuring compliance with all HSE, quality, company, and site-specific policies and procedures.
  • Identify and implement continuous improvement initiatives to enhance operational efficiency, administration processes, and cost effectiveness.
About You
  • Minimum 5 years' experience in a supervisory role within a fabrication workshop environment and 10+ years' technical industry experience.
  • Demonstrated experience in estimating workshop projects and managing multiple jobs simultaneously.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to engage effectively at all levels.
  • High attention to detail, strong numerical accuracy, and excellent organisational skills.
  • Proven ability to work under pressure, prioritise workloads, and meet deadlines in a fast-paced environment.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office and other business systems.
  • Experienced in coordinating teams and managing complex operational activities.
  • Cert 10 Welding Supervisor qualification is highly regarded.
  • Local to Gladstone QLD
