Job summary

SMS Mining Services is seeking an experienced Workshop Manager to lead our High Wycombe workshop in a full-time, Monday–Friday day-shift role. You will oversee workshop operations, asset performance and team leadership, reporting to the Maintenance Services Manager to ensure maintenance and repair activities are carried out safely and to the highest standards.

Qualifications

• Must hold a trade qualification in mechanical, heavy diesel, or related discipline.
• Experience as Workshop Manager or Maintenance Manager.
• Proven ability to lead Supervisors and multidisciplinary workshop teams.
• Commercial acumen with budgets, quotes, cost control and performance metrics.
• Strong leadership, communication and stakeholder management skills.

The Role

We're seeking an experienced Workshop Manager to lead our High Wycombe workshop. This is a full-time, Monday-Friday day-shift position with overall responsibility for workshop operations, asset performance, and team leadership.

Reporting into the Maintenance Services Manager, you will oversee Workshop Supervisors and their teams, ensuring all maintenance, and repair activities are delivered safely, efficiently, and to the highest standard.

This is a leadership role that blends people leadership, operational performance, and process improvement, with a strong focus on safety, productivity, and asset reliability.

What We're Looking For

• Trade qualification in mechanical, heavy diesel, or related discipline
• Demonstrated experience in aWorkshop Manager or Maintenance Manager role, ideally within mining, heavy industry or equipment rebuild centres
• Proven ability to lead Supervisors and manage multi-disciplinary workshop teams
• Commercial acumen with the ability to manage budgets, client quotes, cost control, and performance metrics
• Strong leadership, communication, and stakeholder management skills
• A proactive approach to safety, continuous improvement, and operational excellence
