Job summary

Christians Bus Company is seeking an experienced Workshop Manager to lead the workshop team across our Melbourne western region from Bacchus Marsh area. You will drive fleet safety, reliability and maintenance standards while delivering process improvements.

This hands-on leadership role offers a competitive salary of $120,000–$140,000 plus super, a fully maintained company vehicle, and devices. You will mentor Supervisors and Mechanics and collaborate with Fleet and Operations to achieve

Qualifications

• Certificate III in Heavy Vehicle Mechanics preferred or relevant experience.
• Previous management experience in transport/warehousing; bus experience ideal but not essential.
• Strong organisational and leadership skills.
• Interest in working with Electric Vehicles (EVs).

You’ll lead the workshop team that supports bus operations across Bacchus Marsh, Melton and Werribee, working together to keep our fleet safe, reliable and on the road

About the Role

This is a hands-on leadership role where you’ll:

• Lead and support the workshop team in a modern facility
• Drive fleet safety, reliability and maintenance standards
• Improve workshop efficiency and processes
• Develop and mentor Workshop Supervisors and Mechanics
• Work with Fleet and Operations teams to deliver improvements

About You

You're an experienced Heavy Vehicle or Diesel Mechanic with strong leadership skills and the ability to bring people together.

You'll have:

• Certificate III in Heavy Vehicle Mechanics is preferred, however applicants with relevant experience will also be considered.
• Previous management experience in transport, warehousing, or related industries (bus experience ideal but not essential).
• Strong organisational and leadership skills.
• An interest in working with Electric Vehicles (EVs).
• A results-driven mindset with a focus on safety and compliance.
• Experience managing large-scale operations and understanding Chain of Responsibility (COR).
• A commitment to delivering excellent service.
