Job summary

Synergie Group in Australia seeks a proactive Workshop Manager to lead a high-volume structural steel fabrication workshop, coordinating planning, production and day-to-day operations. Reporting to the Senior Workshop Manager, you will oversee welding, fabrication, quality and dispatch, driving safety, efficiency and continuous improvement in a hands-on leadership role.

The role requires a Boilermaking/Fabrication/Welding trade qualification and strong AS/NZS/ISO process knowledge, plus ERP/MRP

Qualifications

Trade qualification in Boilermaking, Fabrication or Welding.
Experience in structural steel fabrication.
Understanding of AS/NZS 5131/CC3/CC4 and related standards.

Responsibilities

Coordinate welding coordination, inspection, traceability and quality-control activities.
Assist weekly production planning, scheduling and resource allocation.
Communicate production priorities, deadlines and targets to workshop supervisors.
Identify production bottlenecks and implement corrective actions.
Monitor labour utilisation, productivity, overtime and workshop operating costs.
Support stores, inventory control, supplier performance and subcontracted services.
Participate in audits, incident investigations, risk assessments and continuous improvement initiatives.
Provide leadership, mentoring and guidance to supervisors and workshop personnel.
Act as delegate for the Senior Fabrication Manager when required.
