Job summary

ASV Sales & Service in Brisbane's Rocklea district is seeking an experienced Workshop foreman/technician for a busy branch. The role involves leading daily workshop activities, coordinating work with the Service Manager, and ensuring high-quality service delivery on earthmoving equipment.

You will perform diagnostics, service, and repairs on hydraulic, mechanical, and electrical systems, while mentoring apprentices and maintaining safe, clean workshop practices.

Qualifications

• Must hold a Certificate III in construction mobile machinery (plant) and/or heavy diesel mechanical.
• Proven experience leading daily workshop activities.
• Experience with construction or agricultural machinery an advantage.

Responsibilities

• Coordinate and plan workshop work with the Service Manager to meet schedules.
• Communicate progress and priorities with Service Manager and customers.
• Maintain service orders with detailed information and warranty photos.
• Ensure work complies with safe practices and company procedures.
• Provide day-to-day leadership and mentoring to the workshop team.
• On-tools as required to complete tasks.
• Assist with Pre-Delivery Inspections and prep of new machines.
• Troubleshoot hydraulics, mechanical, and electrical faults.
• Read hydraulic and electrical schematics.
• Perform routine servicing and component replacements.
• A/C licence would be highly regarded.

Job description

ASV Sales & Service is one of Australia’s premier suppliers of construction equipment.

Our premium product range includes ASV Posi-Track, XCMG, Fecon Forestry, Develon, Wacker Neuson and a broad range of related attachments.

We are currently seeking experienced Workshop foreman/technician for our Brisbane branch located in Rocklea. Above award wages and overtime available as required.

Key Responsibilities

• Coordinate and plan work efficiently with the Service Manager, ensuring jobs are completed to schedule.
• Communicating job progress and priorities with Service Manager and customers
• Ensuring service orders are maintained with detailed information, photographic evidence for warranty requirements.
• Ensure work is completed in line with safe work practices, company procedures, and environmental requirements.
• Provide active day-to-day leadership and mentoring to assist the team perform at their best.
• On tools as required to complete work (hands on approach)
• Assist with PDI (Pre-Delivery Inspection) and preparation of new machines prior to customer delivery.
• Trouble shooting, fault finding and repairing: Hydraulics, Mechanical & Electrical.
• Able to read Hydraulic and Electrical Schematics.
• Routine servicing, Component replacement.
• A/C License will be highly regarded.

Skills & Criteria

• Must hold a relevant Cert 3 certificate in construction mobile machinery (plant) and or heavy diesel mechanical.
• Previous experience in a workshop construction or machinery environment is preferred; however related fields will be considered.
• Experience with construction or agricultural machinery is an advantage.
• Proven experience in Leading and coordinating daily workshop activities.
• Oversee completed work for quality and to ensure minimal rework is required.
• Effective in ensuring Productivity and efficiencies is maintained, providing technical guidance.
• Train and mentor team members while ensuring apprentices receive the on-the-job experience required to achieve their competencies.
• Maintain a clean, organised, and professional workshop, setting clear expectations around housekeeping and workplace standards.
• Excellent diagnostic and troubleshooting Skillset.
• Physically fit and comfortable working in a hands-on environment
• Able to work independently and as part of a team.
• A positive attitude and strong work ethic
