Job summary

United Heavy Industries Pty Ltd is seeking a hands-on Workshop Assistant to join our Brisbane team in Rocklea. This full-time role supports the workshop with preparation, assembly, inspection and maintenance of machinery used in construction and agriculture.

The ideal candidate is mechanically minded, enjoys practical work and is eager to develop skills within the machinery industry in a busy workshop environment. A driver’s licence is preferred and forklift experience an advantage.

Qualifications

• Experience in a workshop, mechanical, automotive, construction or machinery environment.
• Physically fit and able to work hands-on.
• Full driver’s licence preferred.

Responsibilities

• Assist mechanics with servicing, repairs and maintenance of machinery.
• Assist with PDI (Pre-Delivery Inspection) and preparation of new machines before customer delivery.
• Assist with the assembly and installation of machinery, attachments and accessories.
• Carry out basic mechanical tasks under the direction of experienced mechanics.
• Assist with diagnosing and checking basic mechanical issues.
• Help with loading, unloading and moving machinery around the workshop and yard.
• Maintain tools, equipment and workshop areas.
• Keep the workshop and yard clean, safe and organised.
• Assist with general workshop duties as required.

UHI Machinery is looking for a reliable and hands-on Workshop Assistant to join our Brisbane team in Rocklea.

This is a full-time role supporting our workshop and mechanical team with the preparation, assembly, inspection and maintenance of construction and agricultural machinery.

The role is ideal for someone who is mechanically minded, enjoys hands‑on work and is looking to develop their skills and experience within the machinery industry.

About you

• Previous experience in a workshop, mechanical, automotive, construction or machinery environment is preferred
• Mechanically minded with good practical and hands‑on skills
• Experience with construction or agricultural machinery is an advantage
• Basic knowledge of diesel engines, hydraulics or mechanical systems is highly regarded
• Current Australian driver's licence preferred
• Forklift licence is an advantage
• Physically fit and comfortable working in a hands‑on environment
• Reliable, responsible and willing to learnAble to work independently and as part of a team
• A positive attitude and strong work ethic

$70,000 – $80,000 + super
