Spent your career working in workshops?? Now come and build them and be home every weekend.
Based in Toowoomba, Our Client specializes in the design, fit out and installation of dealership service departments. For more than 36 years they have built a reputation for quality installation, service and maintenance, and today they are recognized as leaders in workshop design and fit out, with projects across Toowoomba, Brisbane, the Gold Coast and Australia wide.
They have designed and fitted out hundreds of workshops for some of Australia's largest dealer groups and prestige brands. With a strong, steady pipeline of work and projects forward booked 2 to 4 months ahead, they are now looking to add two Workshop Fit out Technicians to their existing fit out team.
If you're a mechanic, boilermaker, fitter and turner or a tradesperson with a strong mechanical background, and you're happy to work away Monday to Friday lunchtime with every weekend at home, this is a great opportunity.
You’ll travel to client sites, a lot of them new and refurbished dealership and truck workshops, to install the equipment that makes a workshop run. Working from workshop layouts, installation drawings and manufacturer instructions, you’ll install vehicle hoists, compressed air pipework and droppers, oil and lubrication systems, pumps and fluid reels, hose reels, workshop cabinetry and cable trays. You’ll work alongside builders and other trades, then help test, commission and hand over the finished workshop. There are also equipment relocations and some servicing on existing sites. Each job is planned with a Fit out Coordinator, so the parts and materials are sorted before you get there.
Remuneration package: A full-time position with 42.5 hours guaranteed every week, under the company's Collective Agreement. Additional hours are available most weeks, paid at the same rate. A number of our client's current fit out technicians are already earning in this range, and those who put their hand up for the extra hours can push toward the top of it.
$100 per day travel allowance, paid for every day of travel.
Airbnb style accommodation supplied when working away.
Home by Friday lunchtime, every weekend is yours.
Modern work vehicles and quality tools supplied, so you can focus on the work.
Professional uniforms and PPE kit provided (just bring your steel cap boots).

Hours of work: Monday to Friday, away Monday through to Friday lunchtime.
Our client has a dedicated onsite training centre and an absolute commitment to the ongoing development of their team, with courses available throughout your career.
This role means four nights a week away from home. That's the job. If it suits where you're at in life, it pays well and the work is steady. We encourage you to talk it over at home before you apply. It works best when the whole family is on board.
This process is designed to ensure that when you are offered a position in our client's business, you can plan on building a long-term career with them. They choose their staff very carefully, support them with ongoing training, coaching and career advancement, and years later they are still growing with the business.
