Job summary

Recruit Shop Pty Ltd in Toowoomba is seeking a hands-on On-Site Construction Manager to lead from the front and deliver projects on time, to budget and to high quality standards.

Reporting to the Project Manager, you will oversee all on-site activities, coordinate with architects, engineers, subcontractors, and clients, and manage subcontractors while monitoring budgets and traveling between sites as needed. This close-knit team offers a $120,000+ package with super and a fuel card.

About The Opportunity

The primary purpose of this position is to manage the construction process on site, ensuring projects are delivered on time, within budget, and to the highest quality standards.

Reporting directly to the Project Manager, some of your responsibilities will include:

• Overseeing all on-site construction activities, ensuring compliance with safety, quality, and project specifications
• Coordinating with stakeholders — architects, engineers, subcontractors, and clients — to keep projects on track
• Managing subcontractors and vendors against project schedules and quality requirements
• Monitoring budgets and costs, identifying issues and implementing cost-saving measures
• Leading on-site teams across various sites, with some travel from time to time

The successful candidate will have:

• A trade background with the ability to coordinate and manage the construction process
• A genuine willingness to stay on the tools and help out where needed — not for someone looking to get off the tools
• Strong leadership skills, with the ability to motivate and manage on-site teams
