Job summary

Sci-Fleet Hino is seeking a Workshop Controller in Eagle Farm to lead a team of technicians and optimise workshop performance. The role reports to the Service Manager and focuses on delivering high-quality service and efficiency for customers.

The successful candidate will have a Certificate III in Heavy Commercial Vehicle Mechanical Technology or equivalent, with a Heavy Rigid truck license advantageous. A fast-paced environment and strong leadership are essential for success.

Qualifications

• Qualified Technician with relevant trade cert or equivalent.
• Heavy Rigid truck license is advantageous (or ability to obtain).
• Strong work ethic and high attention to detail.
• Experience servicing Japanese trucks preferred but not essential.
• Ability to thrive in a fast-paced workshop environment.
• Ability to prioritise and adapt to changing schedules.
• Demonstrates safe working practices and compliance.

Responsibilities

• Lead a team of technicians to maximise productivity and profitability.
• Exercise effective time management to balance resources and priorities.
• Communicate with the OEM for service updates and quality.
• Build strong relationships with workshop staff.
• Motivate and train staff to meet targets and deadlines.
• Provide high level customer service to dealership customers.

Sci-Fleet Hino have an opportunity for a Workshop Controller at Eagle Farm. As a leader in the Australian medium duty truck market, we pride ourselves on both customer service and quality.

Reporting to the ServiceManager and working alongside other highly skilled and motivated employees.

You will be responsible for the following:

• Manage a team of technicians to maximize productivity and profitability within the workshop
• Exercise excellent time management skills to balance resource with conflicting priorities
• Communicate With the OEM
• Build effective relationships with workshop staff
• Motivate and train workshop staff while maintaining targets and deadlines
• Providing high level customer service to the dealership's customers
• Contribute to building a positive team spirit

The successful candidate will have the following attributes:

• Qualified Technician under Certificate III in Heavy Commercial Vehicle Mechanical Technology (or equivalent qualification)
• A Heavy Rigid truck license (or ability to obtain same) is advantageous
• A strong work ethic with a high attention to detail
• Servicing experience in Japanese trucks is preferred but not essentials
• Previous experience working in a fast-paced environment
• The ability to prioritize and adapt to changes in daily schedules
• Demonstrates safe working practices
• A/C and RWC license desirable
