Job summary

EvaKool invites a hands-on Workshop-based Refrigeration Technician to join our Burpengary East team, diagnosing and repairing portable 12V/24V fridge freezers in a full-time role. You will test refrigeration and electrical systems, record repairs, and work with service agents to resolve faults quickly while keeping safety and quality at the forefront.

The role supports product testing and improvements at our brand-new headquarters, with a focus on teamwork and ongoing learning in Australia’s

Qualifications

• Trade-qualified refrigeration mechanic with relevant licenses.
• Experience diagnosing and repairing portable refrigeration units.
• Strong fault-finding skills and willingness to learn.

Responsibilities

• Diagnose, fault-find and repair portable fridge freezers.
• Test refrigeration and electrical systems to identify faults.
• Liaise with Service Agents to assist with repairs and technical enquiries.
• Provide technical support to customer service and customers.
• Identify common faults and product improvements.
• Assist with product testing and quality control.
• Keep service and repair records up to date.
• Maintain a clean, organised and safe work area.

This is a hands‑on workshop-based refrigeration role — not an air‑conditioning installation role. You'll diagnose electrical and refrigeration faults, repair products, test completed repairs and help us identify recurring product and component issues.

About the role

This is a full-time role based at our brand-new Burpengary East headquarters.

Your responsibilities will include:

• Diagnosing, fault finding and repairing portable fridge freezers

• Testing refrigeration and electrical systems to identify faults

• Liaising with our Service Agents to assist with repairs and technical enquiries

• Providing technical support to our customer service team and customers

• Identify common faults and product improvements

• Assisting with product testing and quality control

• Keeping service and repair records up to date

• Maintaining a clean, organised and safe work area

Qualifications & Requirements

We’re looking for a practical, reliable refrigeration mechanic with strong fault-finding skills and a genuine willingness to learn.

To be successful in this role, you will have:

• Certificate III in Air Conditioning and Refrigeration (UEE32225, UEE32220 or equivalent/superseded trade qualification)

• Qualified Refrigeration & Air Conditioning Mechanic / Refrigeration Mechanic.

• Restricted Electrical (QLD) ticket

• Current ARC Refrigerant Handling Licence (RHL)

• Current Driver’s Licence

• Strong refrigeration and electrical fault-finding skills

• Strong electrical/electronic diagnostic ability — particularly 12V/24V DC systems, compressors, controllers, thermistors, fans and wiring.

• Ideally experience repairing portable refrigeration, caravan/RV refrigeration, marine refrigeration, automotive refrigeration or small commercial refrigeration.

• Passion for product quality and testing

• Good problem-solving skills and attention to detail

• The ability to work autonomously and as part of a team

• A willingness to learn new products and skills

• Sound computer skills
